British gas Boiler cover

Has anyone had any phone calls from British Gas trying to sell a new type of boiler cover to existing customers only :question:

    There are different levels I think. 1 covers just the boiler (repair and spares) and the other is for the whole heating system I think. The cover is called Crystal I think

    Well its not british gas if its called Crystal....... i can assure you 100% BG dont have anything called this.....

    but googling it brings the following up.... looks like someone is trying to sign you up by using the BG name...

    I am an existing British Gas HomeCare customer for boiler maintenance.

    After a recent callout to have my boiler repaired, B.G. phoned me to ask if everything went okay during the callout. They then went on to try and sell me an upgrade to a higher level of cover for the central heating, plus some other cover for water pipes, drains, electrics, etc.

    I politely refused their offer.

  • I have additional cover and it can be useful - have claimed on kitchen appliance cover twice when dishwasher failed - quick and free and yet replacing electronic controller could have been pricey. Also think they take on without pre-inspection.

    As for Central heating & boiler maintenance: this includes an annual service but for as many years as I can remember this seems to come round at 13 month intervals - funny that but guess it means 1 less service every 12 years.
