Banks New Wheeze.

Today we had a letter through saying that we have to "prove"to them we are keeping c/card details safe. Laudible of course but all you have to do is to fill in web site and confirm you are doing it right. Easy. All it costs a small business is from £30. per year. Nice little earner and another way of passing the buck if a duff card slips through the net.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Which bank? Name and shame. Then switch if possible.
Is the web site kosher? This sounds an awful lot like phishing!

No, its genuine, it came via a letter from Streamline the card machine company a lot of small business users use. It quoted my merchant number for proof. I don't doubt that other banks and machine operators will/are do/doing the same.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
