Banks New Wheeze.

Today we had a letter through saying that we have to "prove"to them we are keeping c/card details safe. Laudible of course but all you have to do is to fill in web site and confirm you are doing it right. Easy. All it costs a small business is from £30. per year. Nice little earner and another way of passing the buck if a duff card slips through the net.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Which bank? Name and shame. Then switch if possible.

Is the web site kosher? This sounds an awful lot like phishing!

  • No, its genuine, it came via a letter from Streamline the card machine company a lot of small business users use. It quoted my merchant number for proof. I don't doubt that other banks and machine operators will/are do/doing the same.
