Lloyds TSB PPI

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone will have some experience or advice on this one.

I took out a loan with Lloyds TSB back in 2008 which included PPI. As I applied for the loan online I am unsure where I would stand if I made a complaint.

The reason I selected PPI with the loan was that I had recently had time off work with problems relating to a health condition that I was being diagnosed with at the time and was in 'limbo' with regards to my health and what affect it might have on my employment/finances, and I wanted to be protected if anything was to happen - not that I would have been as my health condition would have made this insurance void. I'm not sure what health questions they asked, but I don't remember it being extensive, if any questions were asked at all.

With regards to work and sick leave, I am entitled to 6 months full-pay, followed by 6 months half-pay. Again, I'm not sure if I was asked about these employer benefits, as thinking about it, it would mean the PPI was unecessary.

It is annoying that I have paid for something that I thought would protect me if my circumstances changed, to later find out it wouldn't. I haven't done anything before as I'm not sure if I have a strong enough case; I'm now looking into it as my dad thinks I should!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Luke

    Hi there

Maybe someone will know the best advice on this, but you could still make a reclaim on the grounds that the policy did not suit you.

But as your unable to recall on any questions asked, you could optionally request for a subject access request (SAR) where they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all data held on your accounts, so if you bank with lloyds and enclose you bank account number on the SAR letter (on link below) they should send data on all accounts taken out with them, you enclose the one off £10 cheque or postal order for this request.
