Egypt travel money advice

Hi, im going to Egypt "sharm el shake" for 2 weels with my partner in just over 2 weeks and we are looking to take about £240 worth of egypt pounds each spending money, were all inclusive and wont be looking to eat out much, just taxi/bus fares, snacks, drinks when out and about 2 trips, i was looking to get this currency online in small notes before we go, but ive been told to take British pounds there insted.
I also have a EGG credit and hsbc visa debit card.
Anyone have any info on this, many thanks.

Take English pounds with you and change them there - you get more for your money and they don't charge you any commission. Also it is extremely difficult to get small denominations here in England.0

thank for the reply, so where is the best place to change the money once there? going to be in sharm the entire time. rates in the u.k are around 8.58 right now, whats it likely to be there?0

Also, in a lot of places like Egypt sellers commonly ask for other major currencies, US dollars (especially), in preference to the local currency. Bit like paying cash for something to avoid VAT, I suppose.0

We came back at the beginning of September and found the rates in the hotel pretty good 9.4 but you could change it at the HSBC for 9.60
