Hi all,
Will be moving to antrim in a few weeks and was looking to get a recommendation for BB? Don't mind paying a few sheckles more for decent service but i wouldn't be a heavy user. I've heard sky's offering can be a bit hit and miss

What you will be able to get will be entirely dependant upon your exchange/postcode area. A very large part of NI is covered by fibre optic now with the rest rolling out on an ongoing basis so unless you are extremely rural, you should be able to get a good solution.0

As stated quite a bit of Antrim is already Fibre enabled and quite a bit more is being rolled out between the end of September and end of January, so Fibre will probably be the way to go.
The question is not really about Antrim, it is more general as to who provides a good service and that is a very personal thing> I have been happy with O2 but I am currently with Plusnet who apart from an initial hiccup (which was resolved quite quickly) have been fine but I know someone who couldn't get away quick enough and went to TalkTalk who I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
Is there not a good deal advertised for Fibre broadband and calls from BT on TV at the moment?0 -
Thanks all for replies so far, i think the BT infinity/fibre optic options are a little too pricey (but i'll research more)
in an ideal world i'd take the broadband unlimited oprtion from sky but i'd be worried the service would be poor.0 -
I have a similar problem. I have BT Broad Band and a VOIPS phone, that really does not work reliably, as the available band width in the area must be poor. Not terrible pleased.
Yesterday I got a phone call from BT offering to upgrade and all in phone calls for around £42 per month and on an 18 month contract.
Given previous experience I would love to go somewhere else, but that would mean changing my e-mail addresses etc.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -
Re: Sky, I would say they are as good or bad as most for service etc, the speeds are better than many and is by far the lowest priced truly unlimited broadband service on the market, expecially if you take Sky TV and phone as well.0

jk its a lovely place really
If you can get infinity with BT where you are moving to i would recommend that
Otherwise sky is grand - ive never had any probs with their cust serv or signalComp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0 -
Thanks all, i'd love to get infinity but it's just too cost prohibitive for my needs, looks like i'll go with sky0

I'd recommend O2 if they're available in your exchange area, great service and a fiver off if you have an O2 phone, contract or pre-pay.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

Wish I could have infinity!
yorkie98 - I don't want to be picky, but when you say 'most of NI', you mean 'most of NI's exchanges'. My exchange is FTTCabinet enabled, but my cabinet is not. Plenty of people are in this situation.0
