Mira Excel BIV/EV

Hi,

we are currently in the process of installing a wet room and have decided on the Mira Excel..

however, we are undecided on whether a built in valve or an exposed valve is better.

Are there any practical benefits to having either?

the contractor seems to be against the BIV... says they have to knock walls down to put it in... is this true?

cheers

Yup id be interested in knowing whether its better to have the biv or ev...

aeasthetically we prefer the BIV, but is it really as difficult to install as they're making out...?

I've only ever fitted the EV.

Depends on whether you like exposed pipes, although these can be buried in the wall as well.

The EV will always be easier to repair should it ever need maintenance, although to date I've never had one of these go wrong :)

well i can maybe add to the pros and cons of a built in shower head.
am going to renew my shower and enclosure we have had problems with an adjoining bedroom wall damp next to the bathroom shower wall.
i have always blamed the grout between tiles so i decided to start afresh and get shower wall.
tiles taken off this afternoon and it appears the damp is coming from a knuckle on the shower head(built in the wall) having a leak,if had an exposed head i wouldnt have the problem i have now!
i now need to let the walls dry out before any further work can be done!
