Halifax Online Banking Query.

Options
Hi guys,

I've just tried to open a Reward Current Account with Halifax.

I already have an account with Halifax and an ISA with them, but when I clicked through to open the new account it treated me as though I had never banked with them. i.e. enter details etc as expected but then it asked me if I wanted to register for online banking, there was no option for selecting you already had it.

Basically, will I just be able to get them to link the account to my existing online login when I get the details through the post?

Cheers.

Log on and then apply. That will be loads quicker.

If you've already applied, it will link to your other accounts, but may take a short amount of time.

Yeah, I was logged in, yet it didn't seem to make a difference. There is a direct link to ultimate reward current account. However for reward current account I had to do some rooting through the online banking menus.

when you log in just click upgrade unless you do not have a bank with them but a savings?

They will link automatically, it will be in the Bank of Scotland online set up which covers all Halifax and BoS accounts.. I took out a Halifax basic credit card some months ago(as this is one of the few cards that doesn't charge for overseas use nowadays), didn't mention that I had any other accounts with the group. When the card was issued I found it had automatically listed in my Bank of Scotland online accounts

It would only let me upgrade my normal current account to ultimate reward current account. But thanks anyway.

  • You can only have one reward. So if you log in and click bank accounts then it'll show you what you eligable for. Or ring. It's easy but you shouldn't need new form but saying that mine had a few pages but after I ticked first few boxes the rest was fill in already. I enter my employer detail only.

Try it. It does link you. Mine appear online after a day.

    Good lucky.
