  • Have a look at the FSA Register.

On what grounds are you complaining?

Thanks. We are complaining because my OH was forced to take out the PPI even though he didnt want it. He was told he wouldnt be allowed the cards if he said no.

You may find it difficult to prove that.

The banks seem to have been largely upholding complaints they couldn't prove were not missold in an effort to clear backlogs of late but legally unless the evidence indicates it is more likely than not (and not merely equally as likely) that a missale took place, it should not be.

That means the bank ought to win an "oh yes you did" "oh no we didn't argument"
  • I think you need to brush up on your google skills ;) The home page of the Bank of Scotland website has a clear link saying 'how do I complain about PPI' and says

    How to make a complaint

We’re sorry you have a complaint about the way your Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) policy was sold, but we’re committed to making the journey as easy as possible.
If you have already made a complaint to us you do not need to do anything. We will be in touch as soon as we have an update on your case.
If you have a concern about how your PPI Policy was sold, it's easy for you to contact us directly so you don’t need to use a Claims Management Company (CMC) who will typically charge an up front fee or take a proportion of any compensation you may be due. We assess complaints sent directly to us in exactly the same way that we treat complaints from a Claims Management Company, so by coming direct you will not be disadvantaged.
Here's what you need to do.
    1. Call or write to us
At Bank of Scotland we are committed to making it as easy as possible to resolve your complaint. We’d like to discuss the details of your case with you directly so your concerns can be resolved as quickly as possible. You can call us on 08457 253 519 (lines open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday), our dedicated number for PPI complaints or write to us at Customer Relations, PO Box 548, Leeds, LS1 1W
