now just running along with some thoughts about the dreaded 'C' for presents for my 3 year old (she will be 3 1/2 in december).
now shes increadably comfortable on a proper computer and uses one daily, and i have even got her helping with basic maintenance of my spare system with taking them apart, cleaning dust from heatsink and fans and putting them back together (of course she doesnt do it on her own but she helps)
now my wife thought she might like some form of tablet computer aswell since she picked up her aunts ipad and was happily playing on it, however money wise we can not afford something that expensive so have been looking at the lower end.
however heres my dilemma as we have come accross some of the kiddie specfic tablets such as the vtech innotab and the leapfrog/leappad exployer which are both around £70, which of course should have been built to take a little rough and tumble, and have everything designed with children in mind however has limited uses, limited apps/programs and expensive apps/programs (from what i can see looking at between £2 and £10 a app and £20-25 a program).
comparing them to (current favourite cheap tab) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tabtech-M010S-Google-Android-Tablet/dp/B0051SXFWQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1316596309&sr=8-2 which has got the android market so large-ish range of apps, some of course will be free, the internet for her websites cbeebies, disney etc, however has the disadvantages of not being designed for kids so the potential for her to get on something she shouldnt (although will be supervised with it as she is with the computer) is potentially more likely to break etc,
anyways just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on these ideas

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
