I sympathise. Our last flat was covered in building works for months. The main "camp" for operations was outside my bedroom window. The builders arrived and started working at 7am, which included the generator. There was no privacy with builders asking me for cups of tea while I tried to put my make up on by the window. We didn't cause a fuss because it was a rare flat for being that price in that area. But perhaps we should have tried our luck, and I think that's all it is, trying your luck. Whatever discount you get now, they'll probably just try and get back at the next rent renegotiation.0
