We went to ludlow in the summer and it is very expensive to eat in the town - but we found a great pub - great atmosphere and great food - and staff were so friendly -

Also just a few minutes up the road is one of these

An american style diner - great for breakfast with a difference (see online menus) - or even for food later in the day - also if you have children they get to eat free.0 -
We like the Wheatsheaf in Lower Broad Street. www.the-wheatsheaf-inn.co.uk0

Hi there, i actually live in ludlow and there a quite a few nice places to go and eat.
The Squirrel Pub - Its located next to harry tuffins garage on the outskirts of town and is a marstons pub. We have never had bad meal there, it can get busy on fri/sat night but they usually find you a table pretty quickly.
The Bull Ring Tavern - This is right in town and is a cheap and cheerful 2,4,6,8 pub chain where meals are either of these prices. Its ok here but can be a little hit and miss but i suppose sometimes you get what you pay for.
The Queens - Again on your way into town. Lovely meals both day and night although you get more choice on the night menu.
The Church Inn - In town again behind the buttercross. Does lunchtime sandwiches aswell as "proper" food.
Aragons - They used to do a nice breakfast aswell as other food.
Ego Cafe - Past Aragons and down a little like alley way. Its a little kind of bistro place. They also do nice breakfasts.
Degrays Tearooms - Lovely cakes and a nice pot of tea.
There is also a cafe which is part of the castle but you dont have to pay to get in to cafe and another cafe which is opposite the castle a black and white building.
The green cafe - Which is on your way out of town about a 10 min walk, its all down hill on the way down but rather a steep walk back up. Its right next to the river and you could just have coffee or cakes or a 3 course meal. On a nice days its a really lovely setting.
There is a lovely sandwich shop right in town more or less opp costa coffee called Vaughns you can eat in with small seating area upstairs, their sausage sarnies and pork rolls are to die for lol.
There arent really all that many "greasy spoon" breakfast type places in ludlow.
