Where are you? We managed to find a cab company in London who do 1 hour with a nice cleaned London taxi with white ribbons on it for £60. To be honest renting a regular cab for that much for an hour would be a good deal, so we are happy with it.

Otherwise they are stupidly expensive, and mostly for 3 hours. Who needs a car for three hours!?

Ooh Kmmr could you message me the details of this company, they sound amazing. Well done on finding such a good deal, I'm stuck for options in London.

you might struggle getting in and out if you are going for a dress with the typical 9 miles of dress trailing behind though
Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?

TBH, if it wasnt for the OH insisting, I would have gotten taxis, as our ceremony and reception are in the same place and my parents are insisting I leave from their house, which is only a 20 min journey. As it is, OH wanted a vintage car so we are having a cream Austin 18, which is costing us £450. Not very MSE, I know!
  • It all depends how far journey you have / how many runs they have to do / the day you want them and what cars you want.

As some have already said a common thing is for borrowing a friend/family members flashy car and adding some ribbons etc.

We are quite lucky as our venue does a "bolt on" package which gives us a limo and a beauford old style wedding car and 2 white range rovers as part of a package with all our chair covers, canapes and drink top ups included. We did price cars, chair covers etc. seperately though and it worked out it would be much more expensive.
Saving for our next step up the property ladder
  • Its a shame you are in the north I have a beetle although it is not a convertible. I used it for our wedding a month ago along with a couple of my husbands classic cars.

  • I arrived in this car. It's a 1932 Daimler light 15 and it was amazing. My bridesmaids had a matching Daimler limo. Cost about £500 (my mum insisted on paying otherwise it would have been a taxi), so not very MSE but it was worth it for the excitement when the cars pulled up and being in such an amazing car with my very proud dad.

Love your cars code...we're having these ones.

Jojo - they were very reasonable and they're based round Chester area so depending where in N/west you are it might be worth contacting them if you're interested. I wasn't bothered about fancy cars but it was something OH really wanted. The larger car will take him and our 3 lads to zoo (about an hour's drive), then leave after ceremony and photos. The small one will take me and BM from local hotel to zoo, then take me and OH to evening venue. They cost £445 together but the smaller car will be out from around 11am to 6.30 pm by the time it's done both runs so didn't think that's too bad...certainly loads cheaper than others we looked at

We need a car for about 6 hours

The plan is for the car to arrive at my parents' house at 11am and for us to arrive at the evening venue at 5pm... Take me & Dad to ceremony (35-40mins), wait during ceremony, me & OH to location about 10mins drive away, wait whilst we have photos & lunch, then me and OH to evening venue (1hr drive, possibly stopping for more pics on the way).

I looked into vintage car companies but none were reasonably priced (and some even said they couldn't guarantee that the car would make the distance !!!) so, like others suggested above, I googled "executive car hire [Location]" and have had several quotes for around £300 for brand new Merc/BMW/Bentley, decorated with ribbons & flowers etc, which works out at about £50ph inc vat... I just wish I knew someone with a nice car so I could be more :money:
