SKY charging for a service they are not providing me with!

Options
Hi all
I'm new and this is my first ever post so firstly, I apologise if I don't do this correctly.

I checked my SKY bill tonight to see that my £12.50 broadband (BB)cost is broken into the following:
Broadband £7.50,
Supplement for NOT having SKY Talk £5.00

Surely they can't charge me for a service I'm not having from them? I called to ask about a refund and they refused saying it's part of the package. When I advised this was never discussed with me when I took out the BB (moved from UKOnline as they were owned by SKY and SKY closed them down), and I have never been notified about this supplement charge or given the option to decline the service, they said I should have been sent a letter detailing the charge as of 1st Sept 2011 but they can see from my account that they didn't send me a letter. They also STILL refused a refund and told me I'd have to write in to complain! No apology, Team Leader was too busy to talk to me and refused to give her name to me (via the customer service agent).

Anyone else experienced the same situation? Can anyone suggest what to do next?

Many thanks in advance

they are not giving you the £5 discount for Sky talk
    ergo the BB costs £12.50
you agreed the price for the BB,no?
    so its breakdown is irrelevant

Sky talk is great, free evening calls, free weekend calls, free 0870 numbers, free calls to sky on their 0844 number.

You can soon wrack more than a fiver doing these numbers over the month.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

yea, you haven't got a leg to stand on. the £5 supplement is discounted if you have the calls package. it's £12.50/month without sky talk.
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
