I don't think Distance Selling Regs will help you as, presumably, the windows were made-to-measure and I think custom products are excluded.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

no worries, cut my losses and deal with , thanks0 -
Can you not still use the window frames and just replace the panes of glass? I don`t think replacement glass is overly expensive so your purchase will not be a complete write off.0

The buyer is obligated to make sufficient enquiries and ask relevant questions to establish that the items being supplied meet their needs and comply with any relevant standards.
It is not up to the supplier to ask the questions
However, if the buyer makes the seller aware of anything specific or asks for advice on the product fulfilling a specific criteria, then the seller is 'on notice' and must ensure that the items meets the buyers needs0 -
Tip to get you ahead of the next game. . . if you're planning on selling your house (ever) the buyer's solicitor will most likely ask you to provide a FENSA certificate for any windows you've replaced - and you only get one of those if a FENSA registered person/firm has fitted them. I don't know more than that, but it's something you might like to Google before you arrange for your window to be fitted. If you can't supply the certificate, then it could cause a 2-3 week delay (and maybe the cost of an indemnity policy) during the selling process.0
