One of the main reasons to dash to live broadcasting on the internet is so everyone that owns a broadband connection will have to pay a TV licence, you watch this space,,, its on the cards.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I've got nothing but praise for the tv licensing people!
We do not have a normal tv, everything is run via our computer and monitor. We do not watch live tv on it, only bbci programmes once in a blue moon. I rang up the tv peeps to ask if we needed a licence and the nice chappy said no. He asked how long we'd been using the computer (5 months) and gave me a refund of £37 (1 complete unused quarter) :j
A couple of weeks ago, a tv man knocked on the door, did a 20 second check that our monitor really is a monitor went away happy."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -

But why should you have to let someone without a warrant in to your home!? Stinks of big brother to me!
What is more you don't know them from Adam, at least a policeman will have been vetted and trained!0 -
Ignore them.
I have a stack of these TVL threatograms of all varieties, an 'enforcement officer' has been due to come round for the last 18 months. I wish he'd hurry up, I got biscuits in especially.0 -

Will you let me into your house for a 20 second check that you haven't got a tumble drier/washing machine/dishwasher/insert any other household item of your choice?0 -
Thanks for your comments. My main complaint about this is how ineffective the TVL lot are. I personally have no complaint with paying a licence as I HATE adverts and would rather pay anything than have to sit through those mind-numbing insults to my intelligence.
It just gets me how useless these lot are when it comes to collecting the licence fee.0 -
They really are a bunch of useless, bumbling fools. I had one visit that I let in for a bit of entertainment and after showing him around he promised he would sort it we would receive no more letters etc. then less than 3 months later another knock on the door.
This one didn't get away so easily! I have not heard anything since this second visit but it's early days.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Whats wrong with Ignoring them, let them come look for the house, it's their time, fuel and money...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
