What to do? (Sent buyer a refund and now item has arrived)

Options
Hi,

I sent an item to someone... they claimed it hadn't arrived, so I refunded them. Now they've emailed today to say it has arrived, with no mention of them repaying for the item. In this situation, what am I supposed to do? I've lost out on the item and can't claim from Royal mail, but they now have the item. Should I just let them have it?! Or ask for them to repay?

Confused!

Depends how much the item is worth. If it's a couple of quid, i wouldn't lose sleep over it.
  • You could gift them the returns post if it is worth it.
  • Send them a PayPal invoice for the amount they originally paid.

Ask them if they want to repay and keep it or would they prefer you to send postage via paypal and post it back to you.

She may be telling the truth that she can't see the refund - if the buyer has bought by card then it sometimes goes back to that and doesn't show in their Paypal account as cash.

If the money wasn't in your paypal account it will take days, I think the one I did was over a week for the buyer to get a refund if the money comes from your bank account, so it could be that she's not had the refund yet.
