ESA, and reasonable adjustments on the work programme

I was curious who's responsibility it is to make sure reasonable adjustments and/or assessments are done for any work placements on the work programme.
Ordinarily you would request this from the employer and the Human resources team would make an appointment to assess your disability and/or needs. But in this case it's a placement rather then employment so who sorts it out?
Also if your in the WRAG is their a time limit to requesting the ATOS medical notes or a statement of reasons, because it seems their prognosis of recovery time affects whether you will be put on the work programme so i need to know what they claim this to be.
Cheers for the help.

Don't know about responsibility though I would expect it to be the work programme provider.
In terms of requesting the information about your medical you can ask whenever you want though there may be a time-limit of how long they keep the information for.
As far as I know the prognosis they use is often what own doctor has said.0 -

With me ATOS decided themselves. I was given 3mths recovery. I was turned down for ESA but won on appeal.
My doctor opinion is minimum 3-4 yrs for any kind of improvement.... if then."I may not have gone where i intended to go,but think i have ended up where i needed to be".Douglas Adams0 -
I think its Atos that gives an estimated recovery time as part of their 'assessment', i'm be surprised if they contacted my doctor. That would mean they would have to contact each claimants doctor which would be a nightmare and it would seem a strange thing to do when they base so much else on the Atos medical.
If i was told i had to do some work placement and i asked for my needs to be assessed and no one knew who's resposibility it was could i refuse to start until it was done. Who do i contact if i wasn't happy with the result or the method of the needs assessment? They need to iron out these fine points having your needs assessed for work is a pretty fundamental thing in my eyes.0 -

they gave me a recovery time of 3 months when i have been told repeatedly by my specialists at the hospital and my own gp, countless physios that my conditions will be with me until the day i die.
