Hi,
I have been trying for days, the old pc is upstairs now it had the hardrive wiped and windows reinstalled got sp2 installed on it through downloading it to my external hardrive and installing upstairs.
But I cannot get the wireless adapter which it recognises to connect to the router downstairs it finds the signal etc but won't connect. Any ideas please as it is driving me round the bend.
I had thought of bringing the old hardrive downstairs and hardwiring it into the internet to install all of the updates for sp2 would this be worth doing or not?
Thanks for any help Jen.

If it can see it, but won't connect, it's usually either a mismatched encryption key, or to do with mac address filtering if you have it enabled.
So, copy and paste your encryption key from the router into a file, and try that on the PC

I went into the router and changed a setting to G instead of b and G It worked but I did an update on the old pc and had to restart and now its lost it again. I need to know if it ever decides to connect again how to save the settings for wireless 2 on the router.

Not to worry I have done it sat here for about 3 hours but it is all running great and I am managing to get all the latest windows updates as well.
Cheers Jen0
