£15 to return an item below 30kg..............

You can hardly expect the seller to pay that, somewhere between £7-£10 might be reasonable.

I am only going by what I was quoted, and yes I can expect that as I did not tell him to faslely advertise! If the seller wants to try and cheat people, and is comes back to bit him on the b*m then such as life.

I would have kept the item even if advertised as new when not had it even been in a good condition, but it looks as if they had it in their house, showroom or whatever for some time then flogged it off, no problem with that but then advertised as used, or shop soiled or display item, not brand new and boxed, that way I can decide if I want to pay £xxx for a very used item.

Although I agree with the sentiment, if the seller plays ball and pays postage they will likely reimburse a reasonable amount which would be about £8 inc.VAT rather than £15.

Depending on the items size, a parcelmonkey booking would be lower and 24hr shipping I believe.

I am more than happy for him to arrange collection with a reputable company that will give me a collection receipt, if he can get it sent back for a fiver then good on him, but I am not going to spend time trying to figure out what works for him.

I got a quote online and that is what was thrown up. He messed up with the payment after I won the item, he then messed up with taking ages getting it to me, and that was only dealt with after many unanswered emails and then finally opening a dispute under "where is my item" that he finally sent it ( i was happy to cancel order but he quickly got back to PP with a tracking number and sent it) then he sends me tat, and I should consider him?!?

I think the voucher is a freebie from ebay to cover the return postage costs.
If this is the case then as it's a goodwill gesture, refusing it and asking for cash might not be a good idea.

Oh, I see. In that case, I'd take the voucher from eBay and consider suing the seller! The seller, if acting in the course of a business, is legally required to refund your return postage.
