HSBC Stating NO PPI Present / Untrue

Hi all
Am looking for some pointers to help my father with HSBC.
He had 2 mortgages and 4 loans over a 12 year period, He remembers quite clearly that all loans had Payment protection as he was basically told that it was included as package and could not be removed.
He didn't have any of these details available anymore as he has completed all loans / mortgages and no longer banks with them anymore either.
Therefore we sent a SAR request to them with the fee.
After endless messing around with them, as they insisited the SAR was sent to a branch and not posted (unlike direct line & barclays whom did send by courier).
The SAR details seem somewhat edited, only details present was loan / mortgage account numbers, no where was there any information on loan amounts / PPI etc.
They however managed to include details from land registry from 2001 but seem to not want to enclose info needed.
Therefore my father sent his PPI claim form off to them using the account details in SAR.
HSBC have wrote through stating there was no PPI policies present on any of them, complete and utter lies.
Any pointers or help would be greatly received.
Thank you

For mortgages, they wouldnt necessarily know if PPI existed on them or not as it would have been a standalone product and could be taken out with anyone.
They are only required to supply information in a relevant filing system and many of these records from that long ago would either be destroyed or not filed on a relevant filing system.
If they have no data that says PPI existed and your father has no data then there is nothing that can be done about it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). That could mean held only in policy number order. That was quite typical for insurance policies. If you know the policy number it can be found but without it you cannot and, since the personal data cannot be retrieved simply from name/address/date of birth, the filing system is not "relevant" for the purposes of the Data Protection Act.0
