Bought Repo - Gas & Elec are prepay!

I've contacted British Gas asking them for their policy on changing prepay meters to credit meters and they have confirmed in writing to me (via email) that if I switch to them they will change the meters for free (subject to a credit check which won't be a problem for me).
This at least gives me something to play with in negotiating with npower. I'll let them know that British Gas are prepared to do it for free and if npower won't then I'll simply switch over. That way they have they choice, they can waive the £60 per meter charge (or whatever it is they charge) or refuse focing me to switch and them losing potentially £1000's from me.0 -

Where do you get the £1000's from they may only make £120 a year profit from you.
Who do you think pays for all those free meter changes?

Two good lessons well learned, a landlord should always have a rip~off~protection meter. And a tenant / owner should always ask the question before agreeing to the tenancy, and make the landlord pay for the change it before signingDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. The debt is the tenant's and not the property's so without a prepay meter there is no problem even if the tenant gets into debt as the debt moves with them.
I'm a tenant and British Gas changed my meters for free when I moved in by just doing a credit check. Not all tenants are bad payers. I have plenty of savings with which to pay my bills.0
