Can't believe it !!! after Barclaycard initially rejected my complaint , I wrote back to them asking to kindly re-consider .The reason they used to reject was that their accepted sales process at the time would mean that the PPI could not have been re-sold.
Sent the letter 14 days ago , also emailed the CEO to ask for his help , just rang Barclays to get an update , was told a resolution letter has been sent to me . The advisor very kindly read the letter back to me , I am to receive £16664 back !!!! .
This is my second successful claim , I am also due £10664 back from Barclays on a misold PPI for a loan .
Absolutely overjoyed with this outcome !!! I can never thank the people on this site enough for the help and guidance .
A VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU TO ALL

Wilfymusic,
Congratulations and well-done! Did Barclays give you the 40 day pay out time scale? I am also waiting for Barclays and have been told 40 days! Such a long time though!0 -
Thanks Wilfymusic. Gives me more hope in my battle with Barclaycard. Too long to go into, but was making me pull my hair out! But I am not going to give up, and success stories like yours keep me focused!Growing old disgracefully!0

yes , been given the 40 days wait on both of my claims .
Very clever delaying tactic , they get to hold on to our money for another 2 months while we keep paying on our loans & credit cards etc !!!!!
I am 20 days into the Barclayloan "waiting period" , rang this morning just to keep the pressure on , still unable to give any idea when I will receive the money , and kept quoting " we are within the guidlines set ut by the FOS" . What those guidlines don't allow for however is that what little goodwill we as customers have for banks , is very rapidly diminishing .
How long does it take to make an electronic funds transfer ??? and considering my current account is with Barclays , there can be no good reason for any further delay.
I think an email to the CEO may be in order ......0 -

I am in the same boat, 40 working days waiting...... 15 days down! I think they will go to the wire and pay on the 40th day

Got my calculations letter this morning :-
A- refund of PPI premiums (April 1997-Sept 2011) = £4271.55
B- Refund of interest charged on PPI premiums = £9961.48
C- 8% simple interest per annum = £2431.01
D- Total refund = £16664.04
Interestingly , the start of the letter makes particular reference to the letter I sent to the CEO after my initial complaint was rejected.
So , It looks that this sort of approach is quite successful .
Does this sound about right ?
The letter makes no mention of how long after they have recieved my acceptance form back that I shall recieve the refund , anybody able to shed any light on this please ?0 -

The rejection was on the grounds that their accepted sales practice at the time would not have allowed for the PPI to be mis -sold .I wrote back questioning this , and they changed their minds .0 -

Cheers. I took mine out in 1998 and was closed a few months ago due to not being used. I'll expect something similar and then go down the same route as you if I do.0
