psp advice please

we have bought our dd a psp for Christmas and are looking for games but when i look on play.com umd movies keep coming up ,what are umd movies ?

the new psp rely on downloading games if I remember correctly. Up to the version before they used UMD disks for games and films. Check what you've got, and see if you can return it and get a pre-owned older version so you can use game disks, loads available used

if its the standard PSP like this it will still play games and movies are available to buy on UMD disc which are played from the game holder

If its the PSP GO it will only play downloaded games and movies from the playstation store meaning you cannot buy separate games to play from a shop

this is the one we bought ,so i can buy umd /psp games . sorry to be so thick but im not technically minded !
