Starting a claim when loan is still running

My Husband and I have a loan running with the AA and it's estimated that we should pay it off next year. I've yet to dig out any paperwork to look at the contract, but if it's still running (and I feel we've been mis-sol PPI), can we still put in the claim? How will this affect the contract?

Comments

  • You cannot put in a claim unless you have suffered a claimable event (loss of job, illness etc.)

You can put in a complaint which will not affect the loan unless you are in arrears (in which case any redress might be used to reduce them) or you borrowed the insurance premium (in which case the loan balance and monthly payments are likely to reduce as part of the redress).

Why do you think the cover was missold, though?
