Just saw your thread and just thought I would say please please please don't get a loan with Santander if you can help it.
I had one with Cahoot that got moved to Santander when they moved across and I have had nothing but trouble with them. They've even tried to put my APR up on a fixed rate loan and this is now with the FOS to sort out. They also refused to deal with me because of my hearing problem and didn't want to write to me, they demanded that I phoned them. I took this further then they realised and begged me and paid me compensation to drop the complaint.
The loans department is so awful to deal with so if you can get this elsewhere if you are really adamant in moving from TSB I would do so.
Well done on getting everything sorted though and good luck x
Thanks for that. If I get this loan shifted either way then that would be great! I appreciate your comments and sorry for your bad experienes. Lets just face that all banks are t**** and its just a case of being careful!
Thanks; it been log road but everything it getting there!0 -

I believe that tsb are a vile organisation who give no regard for peoples circumstances and neither will Santander when it comes down to it! I have been sloppy in finances in the past but at the end of the day I am getting things sorted. I think moving over to my bank which have been dealing with me for a yr and in moving the loan You have almost no chance of this happening this will strenghthen my relation with them not really- makes perfect sense it really doesn't especially if tsb are giving a 700 quid discount settlement rebates are normal and the loan with santander is 400 quid for a £2300 loan a month !! Whaat ??.
Think you should know that even if accounts ran smoothly then the account can be passed over to where? and credit facilities either reduced or removed what's this got to do with previous comments made ?- maybe you should get your facts straight! What on earth are you talking about ? Obviosly you come prepared by looking on google - are you sure this information is even accurate; 12 year old can wite on wikipedia you know!I'm wondering how old you are !!
Maybe its how you come across that is the issue! Whatever you say - now I am being sarcastic
Seriously - you have been given good advice and it is clear from this an other posts that you are out of your depth and your knowledge lacking. I have not in any way insulted you, however you seem to think I have - bonkers.
Take out whichever loan you like, assuming you can get one with your poor credit rating. I'm sure based on your other posts we will see you back on here in 12-24 months moaning about how Santander have wronged you in some way and asking for advice about how can you leave them.

care to explain how a) out of my depth and b) lack knowledge? You must to have had loads of bother with finances because you seem to know so much!
As I have been in full time employment for 2 yrs I am in a better way to manage my finances so I dont think that I will be back to them days! - no bank is perfect but I would prefer to deal with some more than others!
Nice quote - you get them from a nursury ryhme!
Oh yeah in regard to my age; if by way you mean your user id as hanky panky as a bit of slap and tickle I am probs younger but have a better degree of intelligence!0 -

No bother, however over 10 years experience working in collections for Abbey National including running part of the operation. That was 11 years ago and since then give my time voluntarily to help advise people who have financial difficulties.

I can say you're out of your depth because some of the comments you make and the action you want to take is clearly niaive in the grand scheme. This is not meant to be critical, everyone has to start somewhere.0 -

I dont believe I am out of my depth as I am getting things sorted - from 2 yrs ago where I had arounf 9k of debt down to an amount of around 3k I believe in time this will be sorted and I dont have to change anything drastic apart from increase my payments maybe to clear it faster.
You may have been dealing with abbey/santander but maybe thats why there is a banking crisis or why santander have a rubbish name! You may have helped them but bet a lot of people get into debt for their own faults like not paying where at least I had some degree of personal issue.0 -
You two need to get a room.
Anyway, MWAUGH1983, while I have every sympathy for your situation, to think that you may get another loan with defaults all over your record does display a degree of not understanding how credit markets work. It's very difficult for people with a good credit rating to get loans, people with bad credit histories are bad news these days and the banks won't touch them.
Well done for getting out of your mess so far and stick at it.

I wasnt expecting that I would get a loan with my record. When I went to the bank to enquire about upgrading the bank account I queried about a loan and he said that if I made an appointment then we can always try. He actually worded it to say that as you have been accpeted for the account then thats a good sign but he may have been wanting to get the loan as he no doubt gets commission.
Either way im not to fussed about it as I will look to pay as much of it off within the year and then get rid of the debt by a settlement hopfully.
Yeah thats the idea; was earning rubbish money when I got into the mess but now I have money to pay a loan back but obviously my history stands against me!0
