Wow, with that little collection you have the full set, the alarms and claxons must have been sounding when your loan application went through the system.......................
Like that episode of the Simpsons when they run Homer though the credit system to buy a camper van. Can't find the video but the transcript is just as good :rotfl:
Homer finally asks how much it costs. Cowboy Bob lays it on thick and takes Homer to the credit office. There, he assures Homer that the credit check is purely a formality, but it's part of the procedure.
Bob: [running a credit check] [presses `Enter']
[sirens wail and lights flash]
Homer: Is that a good siren? Am I approved?
Bob: You ever known a siren to be good?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

Simply because you don't like their attitude isn't enough when you bear in mind that you will end up paying more over the two loans than if you just finished this one (including the settlement discount).
In addition from the brief look I had you have the following:
Defaults from Barclays, Capital 1, LTSB and Egg, there may be more and you may be trying to get some of them removed however highly unlikely you will get them all removed.
Also you have accounts that have been passed to DCA's like Wescot, Moorfields, Capquest and Lowells.
With that track record the chances of you getting a loan from a mainstream lender like Santander are very low indeed.
It must be great being able to sit in judgement on people when you are in posession of the facts. My dad died in 2006 and thats when some of my problems started unfortunately. My issue with tsb isnt just personal experiences its how they treat my mum when they wouldnt pay out on the insurance. The expect a women in her 60's and a widow to boot to fund it herself - then whats the point in the insurance! I also had complaints with the ombudsman regarding my charges and loan which were upheld and I received compensation - they actually passed my loan over to solicitors after I made an arrangement with them - some service that and you wonder why I wanna get shot of them!
In terms of defaults I believe some of them have been added to my file in error and I am making enquiries
Making comments along the lines that I may have other defaults - how insulting! I would greatly appreciate it if you no longer comment on my posts as I dont want to cross paths in the future!0 -

Glad you can take life experience from the rich tapestry which is the simpsons! I believe that a company can sell or pass accounts to other business for whatever reasons - doesnt have to be because you are in arrears!0 -

You don't have to read The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire to witness the whole of human life and its experiences....it's all in The Simpsons"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

My issue with tsb isnt just personal experiences its how they treat my mum (that's personal experience!) when they wouldnt pay out on the insurance. The expect a women in her 60's and a widow to boot to fund it herself - then whats the point in the insurance! Who did the insurance cover ? I also had complaints with the ombudsman regarding my charges and loan which were upheld and I received compensation Well done - they actually passed my loan over to solicitors after I made an arrangement with them - some service that and you wonder why I wanna get shot of them!

Making comments along the lines that I may have other defaults - how insulting! How is it insulting - as I mentioned I have had a look at YOUR previous posts and taking the information YOU have provided. I would greatly appreciate it if you no longer comment on my posts as I dont want to cross paths in the future!
I think you have been a little over sensitive here with me - this is a public forum and people will make comments whether you like them or not. I congratulated you on making inroads into you debt problems which you clearly have according to your posts and have tried to offer advice that will not make the situation worse for you but you have taken it completely the wrong way. Also in my opinion you are allowing your emotions to cloud your judgement rather that making a sound financial decision based on the facts.
Whatever LTSB have done to you or your family in the past is financially speaking irrelevant - what is best for you (financially speaking) right now - I doubt that would be re-financing a loan again. All of this is assuming you would qualify for another loan which is doubtful.0 -

No, this is incorrect in this context.0 -
Hi there,
Just saw your thread and just thought I would say please please please don't get a loan with Santander if you can help it.
I had one with Cahoot that got moved to Santander when they moved across and I have had nothing but trouble with them. They've even tried to put my APR up on a fixed rate loan and this is now with the FOS to sort out. They also refused to deal with me because of my hearing problem and didn't want to write to me, they demanded that I phoned them. I took this further then they realised and begged me and paid me compensation to drop the complaint.
The loans department is so awful to deal with so if you can get this elsewhere if you are really adamant in moving from TSB I would do so.
Well done on getting everything sorted though and good luck x0 -

This is a public forum but not one where people can give their opinions based on a few posts. I believe that tsb are a vile organisation who give no regard for peoples circumstances! I have been sloppy in finances in the past but at the end of the day I am getting things sorted. I think moving over to my bank which have been dealing with me for a yr and in moving the loan this will strenghthen my relation with them - makes perfect sense especially if tsb are giving a 700 quid discount and the loan with santander is 400 quid for a £2300 loan.
Think you should know that even if accounts ran smoothly then the account can be passed over and credit facilities either reduced or removed - maybe you should get your facts straight! Obviosly you come prepared by looking on google - are you sure this information is even accurate; 12 year old can wite on wikipedia you know!
Maybe its how you come across that is the issue!0
