Bought a Garmin StreetPilot i3 in Aug 2006.
Very happy with it and had no problems with it. Only use it for long journeys and had only used it about 12 times.
Got it out today and realised the cable from the lighter socket to garmin is broken.
the lighter socket plug a piece of plastic came of along with a fuse.
I am guessing its still under guarantee .. who should i contact? Comet or Garmin?
I believe these cables to buy are £35 which i think its a bit much when i only bought it for £99 recommended by Saving Expert users

You can get a Motorola Razr phone charger for a couple of quid on ebay that's got the same connections and will work on your I3, HTH. Alan.

Its does charge the phone but what it also does is reduce the cars 12volts to a safe level of I think 3 or 5 which is the input voltage for the i3 ..Tesco also sell the lead.

Garmin has one of the best C/S I have ever dealt with. They replaced my broken cable (my fault) free of charge and it was even out of warranty. Just get in touch with Garmin europe and explain nicely and I am sure that they'll replace it for nothing. And while you are at it check whether you are entitled to have the latest version of the maps (which includes the whole of Europe on a DVD) for free if you have purchased your unit recently without the very latest mapping software. Hope this helps.
