Is this a good BT deal?!

I'm on a mission to reduce BT line/call/broadband charges as much as possible. I have already paid £120 up front to BT at the start of the year for Line Rental Saver. The last call to BT achieved a monthly calls and Broadband package of £10 (unlimited broadband and evening and weekend calls). Is that good, or have I missed something?! It still means an annual charge of £240, plus call minder and any extra calls. I am happy with the BT service and seem to be lucky in always getting helpful people on the phone. Only other option seems to be BT Basic (I have an elderly parent living with me who receives pension credit), but understand that you really do have to make a small number of calls to make this worthwhile, as the call charges are pretty hefty after you've used up the allowance.

Just wondering if anyone call tell me, with a quick glance, if this sounds like the BT package is a good deal, or whether I've been confused into thinking it is!

Thank you!

  • £240 is equivalent of £20 a month, you could go with o2 or sky for slightly less if your out of contract and get the same perks.

Or talk talk essentials especially if you pay for 12 months line rental upfront about £17. Just make sure yo will not be hit with any cancellation penalties from BT.

Not sure the BT deal OP mentions is either - think that relates to the phone call bit.

The talktalk essentials package is up to 24mps and 40GB download. Depends how heavily you use the internet and what for but ours is in use daily and we rarely reach 10GB per month.
