    Problem with going for an A3 is your paying for the badge - as someone else has suggested an octavia will give you a newer, better spec car for the same cost.

    Also the octavia has always been regarded as a good tow car.

    Hes fallen in love with a 1.9 diesel astra Sri at the moment, more economical than the cruiser and he says he wants the comfort as it will be more travelling.

    It will easily tow the van within the 85% rule by a mile. Thing is it's a 92 van and exceptionally light by today's standards. We towed it with the PT ok so an astra should be ok for as far as we go.

    I'll let you know what we end up with lol
