Hi,
Ive no idea if this is the right forum. Ive recently got engaged and wanted to make sure I bought the ring in the location where it happened. The location was Santorini (an island in Greece). The jeweler seems reputable but weve since found out the ring itself is far too delicate for everyday wear and weve even lost one of the stones on it.
I have some options :
1. Get it repaired in the UK and potentially through money at it that way (55 quid for one stone to be reset)
Problem : we may constantly be losing stones
2. The jeweler has agreed to fix it for us (90 quid insured DHL for delivery) and to send it back insured
Problem : What happens if it goes missing at the other end when he sends it back?
3. Attempt to return by courier and get a refund
Problem : What happens if they agree and then just dont bother to apply the refund?
Can anyone help - the missus is gutted and im angry with myself for allowing this to happen to sully the whole experience. I want to try and get a belt and braces approach to the guarantees on it but just have no idea where to start. Im calling the CAB tomorrow when they re-open.
Apologies if this is outside the remit of the forum - im just a bit shaken by it all!
