Privet hedge dying
Has this been a particularly bad year for privet hedges or is it just my bad luck. About 5 years ago I replaced a long length of dead privet with new potted root stock. It has been doing quite well until this year. Now at least 5 of the 35 or so new plants have died, together with several 6ft high older plants further along the hedge. My neighbour has also lost a couple of very mature and well tended sections of his hedge.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Look on the net for pictures of Honey Fungus, if it you see either the root like structures or the fungus itself I am afraid you'll lose the lot and any other woody shrubs near by, as you can no longer use Armillatox legally for Honey Fungus in the EU...... Although it is still available as a cleaner.
