currys 0870 rip off

I am so annoyed - I needed to speak to someone at Currys in Worcester and the only number you can use is the 0870 number - which then directs you to press 1 or 2 or 3 etc to 'direct your call'. However, whichever one you press no-one answers. I hung on at least 6 times for al least 5 minutes a time at various times throughout the day - all at 9p a minute rather than the 0p of 18866. Has anyone else had a similar experience, or was it just a genuine 'off day'. (I have my doubts, but you never know).
I still haven't got through and I think it'll be cheaper to drive the 40 mile round trip to see them face to face!!

Nah it is common for Currys. Waited ages on hold around Crimbo and got sworn at for my trouble :rotfl:
Unfortunately for him, the call was recorded and I got £30 worth of vouchers, but dont know or care what happened to him.0 -
Try [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM]. Try saynoto0870.com search for an alternative number, type in currys and scroll down.
Bingo! Don't know who you'll get through to though. But from experience Currys are rubbish!!My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0 -
lady_ noluck, thanks for the say no link. I have saved that, as it could be very useful in future. I had to call PC world recently on an 0870 no, and I see there is a free phone no for it.0

Hi,
Dont just use https://www.saynoto0870.com for 0870 or 0845 numbers. I have an 02 mobile contract which if you require customer services you have to call an 0906 number which is a pemium rate. I typed it in and to my suprise a normal 01 number was supplied. oh how i laughed when they answer, "hello o2 this call costs 50p per minute"0
