Local Parking Security (LPS)

Hi,
I started a thread on here already but can't remember my log in details and can't find it so going to start again
I had a parking ticket from LPS after parking in a car park to a pub that was now closed down and boarded up. I had no money on me and therefore had to get money from the cash point next to the car park with my little girl before purchasing food across the road.
I bought the food which altogether took 2 minutes and got back to my car, on the windscreen I find the Penalty Notice with the guy standing by his van talking to another male. They watched me walk off and stuck the ticket on my car straight away!
The cost for 30mins parking is only 50p. The Penalty Notice was for £40! I send them the letter from this website along with the pictures below:

This is the reply that I received:
"Dear Mr XXXX,
Thank you for your e-mail. You were parked in the Mardy Hotel Car park in breach of the clearly signed regulations. Therefore the Excess Charge notice of £40 remains due and payable.
Yours sincerely
Local Parking Security Ltd"
I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous.
I have since receieved there standard letters:
FORMAL DEMAND on the 10/08/2011
geoffrey parker bourne - UNPAID EXCESS CHARGE NOTICE on the 31/08/2011
geoffrey parker bourne - FINAL CHANCE TO PAY on the 19/09/2011 (Got seven days before they apply for a County Court Claim).
Any ideas? I have been ignoring them since my first appeal to them and don't intend to talk to them now but wanted to check on here first.
Many Thanks.

Just ignore them, if the Pub is closed who are they acting for?

Who has threatened the county court claim?
Thanks for that
It's the Final Chance To Pay off geoffrey parker bourne - solicitors that state on the letter:
"Failure to do so ,ay result in a County Court Claim being issued without further warning."
I did notice the word "may" being used in there sentence.Loan - £5,405.40 left (Ends Apr 2013) £300.30 p/mCapital One C/c - £946.90 (£1k limit) £50p/mSantander OverDraft - £800 Current A/cA&L OverDraft - £800 £30 p/m0 -

When you posted before, maforduk1, did you miss the Watchdog video clip on our sticky info threads (linked on 'welcome, please read before posting' near the top of this sub-forum) and did you miss the letter-chains thread?
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803
Your letters are on there - maybe not the most recent one though? If so, please help us out by showing a broken link of a picture of it, as a reply mentioning it's the latest LPS letter so Crabman knows where to add it (not as a reply here but on the top thread 'PPC letters, what to expect').
As a newbie you will have to break the link to your hosted pic - so just remove the http:// before posting the reply linking it for Crabman to add to the Hall of Shame in that first post.
Any help appreciated with letters missing from our letter-chain info. It's new people adding more that keep the info current and help others who are at the beginning of such a letter-chain scam.
Thanks in advance and OF COURSE keep ignoring the scam.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
