Drivers, Sign The Petition, Only Days Left

Options
Firstly, I apologise if this is in the wrong section....

If you are against the planned Tracking and new Road Pricing Policy then please sign the petition on 10 Downing Street's website.

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

at the time of writing there were 347,944 Signatures .... lets make it a lot more!!

We are already taxed to the Hilt, and vehicle tracking smacks of the "Big Brother" effect. (just think, they will not need speed cameras as your speed will be tracked too, if you inadvertantly exceed the speed limit....possibility of automatically receiving a fine and points in the post!)

More info is posted here

Again, sorry if its in the wrong place,
Cheers

  • This needs to go on a national newspaper, like the sun or something, I'm going to try and raise awareness somehow, have already emailed the sun, everyone try to do the same! (maybe mention on other UK sites too) :D
If this does happen driving will be a nightmare, its bad enough with the speed cameras.

Please visit http://cf.acrewoods.net/research/contactbook/media_national , I've composed an E-mail and just copied and pasted the email addresses on that website in the BCC texbox, that way one email for everyone, I'm sure if they get enough E-mails they will mention it.
  • Brilliant!!
What a great idea, I writing as we speak!

A number of government representitives have tried to explain this away as a way to penalize people who travel excessively, we all pay for fuel and the this is already heavily taxed, so the more you travel the more tax you pay already - this is just another backdoor tax and must be stopped in its tracks - please sign up to the petition.

I have just signed as a result of an email from a friend and at the time of posting this the figure stands at 457,414

Please tell all your friends and family.

We are fed up with being told what we are going to do by our representatives instead of being asked.

Lets forget the politics for a minute and remember that they (politicians of all parties) are there as our voice not our masters

Thought we still had elections here in UK-land - not exactly a surprise that nulab have been increasing taxes and eroding civil liberties for many years, is it suddenly important when it hits closer to home?

I suppose I should be gobsmacked that nicking money out of your pension, stacking up almost unimaginable debts for the future (PFI and public-sector pensions) gets by without a murmur, but mention the possibilty of road taxes going up and we get god-knows how many "furious of Tunbridge Wells" petition threads... but I'm not.
