Is flue liner necessary when installing a wood burning stove?

    I had to install a liner, chimney was breached, however, I now see the wisdom of installing, and using a liner, worse case scenario, and there is a chimney fire, flames and gases are encased in a stainless steel liner.

    And as other have stated, makes cleaning a lot easier. I installed 316 outer, 904 inner liner, as I installed a MF burner, if doing same tomorrow, MF burner, I'd buy 904 inner and outer liner.

    I purchased from flu factory.
