delivery problem

hi i sold two items on ebay last week

one was an evisu top which was sent by special delivery for £4.05
another was
6x O2 & 6x orange simcards which also cost £4.05
I'm sure that i was charged that as they were in the silver bags

now whats happened is the parcels have gone to the wrong person

one received Sims for the top
and vice versa

now I'm not going to tell the buyer to forward the package onto the other seller as ill be breaching their confidentially

but can i request for them to somehow make the package return to sender??
trying to save a few pence you see, as the ebay sales were really poor!!

please advise, for them to send it back and me to ship out again, ill be paying £20+

some help needed

I can't think of any way you can get the items back without paying more postage.

You could risk asking the buyers to just put them back in the post box still sealed and just mark it 'return to sender, addressee unknown'. However you run the risk of the stuff going astray.

I once sent the worng things out as well, luckily mine were ultra light and I had duplicates so I was able to rectify it quite quickly, but I do feel for you.

The only way to guarantee getting the items back would be to ask your buyers to send them back recorded or special delivery depending on the level of insurance you need. This of course would mean you would have to send money to your buyers in order to pay for this service at the post office.

Just droppping items into a post box is dodgy, especially if they are already post marked and just marked 'return to sender'. Even then that's assuming you have a prominent 'return to' address?

I'm pretty certain that you can't "return to sender" or "Redirect to xxx" if the item has been opened.

This reminds me of an infuriating incident......I sent a package on my mum's behalf to Hong Kong a few months back and for some reason it sat around in the post office in the UK for a few weeks and then got delivered back to her address. My dad opened it; thinking it was a package from HK. I went to the post office to complain that it hadn;t even left the country and their reply was basically: you've opened it, so, tough. The postage cost over £80!!!
I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....
