... I am happy with the quote...

Perhaps you'll consider sharing it with the Forum. There must be many interested in what an independent installer charges.

BTW, good that you will have a 5 year warranty, I assume fulfilled by Worcester Bosch, who at least should know their own products.

Unlike the "big service organisations". Apparently.

    Oops that escaped me

    Ok jalexa

    Vaiilant Eco 28 (?) £ 1475
with new time clock £ 1590

    Worcester Greenstar £ 1480
With new time clock £ 1620

He mentioned that the new clock is WiFi but I don't need that and as the clock I have works fine, I''m just having the boiler

Hi..that is a dirt cheap price for a WB CDi referred to in your previous post...sounds more like the type of Greenstar Junior install referred to by another poster. What else has been included on the quote e.g. chemical (or power) flush, magnetic filter? Have you had other quotes to compare specification and price? More for what you should look for here....I linked to it in your other thread.

All included, flush, flue etc ( all of which he explained to me)

Other installers here quoted me similarly for the Vaiilant then I decided on a Worcester cos the old one has kept going for 20 years and I like the 5 yr guarantee.

Wish it was Friday cos I am so cold tonight. Just lit my coal fire to keep warm

    Thanks.

I think you are wise to go for a good quality mid-market boiler (as quoted). Either would have been fine. And that is a good price. A "big organisation" would have charged at least double. And I don't mean to imply you are being "short-changed" on the spec.

Are you sure that is supply and fit for a CDI? They are between £1200 and £1600, just for the boiler, flue and clock.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Not a snowflake's chance in hell you'll get a CDI supply plus fit plus flush for £1600. You'll get the cheapo i-series or junior. Nowhere near the quality of a CDI. I highly recommend you change it if there is still time.

He is installing a Greenstar CDI with the current offer of a 5 year guarantee.

I don't know whether bengasman is right or wrong about which boiler has been quoted. However as a customer it is right to fully understand the quote.

Look at the model name in the quote and identify from this link what is proposed. There is help on the WB website to identify what is an appropriate boiler for your circumstances. Only you can decide how much you want to pay. Personally I do not agree with the entry-level WB boilers being referred to as "cheapo".
