to play the game via Steam you need to download the Steam program first on your computer....you need to ensure your computer (pc or mac) meets the requirements...
you also need to create an account with Steam...this is simple...
BUT note if your pc does not meet the requirements, you can still download the game while the offer is on just by having an account....you will be told you now own the game...so it's there waiting for you in your account for when you can download the Steam installer prog...

It's a great game if you are thinking of playing portal 2 then you must play this one first,
