Ive recently been made unemployed after 20 years at the same company.I've noticed that theatres, cinemas etc have cheaper deals for unemployed people,I just wondered how you claim these deals.I havent been issued/nor told about any card I need so how do you claim them? many thanks

anywhere that offers concessions for the unemployed will no doubt require proof. showing your ub40 maybe enough. some may require that combined with photo id of some kind. it maybe worth just phoning anywhere that has concessions and asking them what they require.
i must admit i havent seen many places offering concessions for the unemployed. it is usually just students and pensioners that are offered concessions.0 -
HELLO...ANYONE OUT THERE...
surely someone must know or be able to help0 -
people can't reply that quick you know. Often if you google it yourself you'll find the answers rather than expecting people to do the donkey work for you. And typing in capital letters is a pet hate of mine as it sounds like your shouting, and I cannot stand shouting!:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

For anyone else,I have tried to look into it,and have come up empty.I been signing on for 6 weeks now and have the booklet you have to produce and hand in at job centre plus everytime you sign on,but havent got a ub40 card.I thought they didnt give them out anymore??0 -
You might be able to get discounted travel if you're in reciept of a qualifying benefit, best placer to ask is the local travel center. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Rather than waste your time complaining about posts that you could just as easily ignore it would be better if you answer ohreally's question, without knowing what benefits you are on it's difficult for anyone to answer properly. If you are only on contributions-based JSA then it's unlikely you'll find many reductions, most concessions seen to need you to be on things like IS. You may have to ask the providers themselves, often places like cinemas don't specify on their websites exactly who can get concessions.0
