Another Problem since the changeover- Halifax

Hello all,
I seem to have another problem since the changeover, I have a bank card that is only 2 months old, has worked fine in shops etc without any problems, due to me going away on holiday and coming back without my pin for the card in my memory - idiot that I am
I decided to get a new pincode
This arrived on Thursday and the most perculiar thing has happened, I can get money out of an ATM no problem at all but in shops it is basically 50/50 as to whether it will accept the pin, Tesco and Primark it has worked, Asda and Gamestation it has said incorrect pin, its really strange
I have called Halifax twice regarding this, the first time on Thursday they said to go through Pin Services on the ATM and then I called them on Saturday when it happened again and they said it was down to them believing the transaction to be fraudulent, however again today its worked in one shop and then not the next, they then said " well if you work out what price your food shopping is going to be before you go in then you can get it from an ATM beforehand" very helpful :rotfl:
Any idea what may cause this or am I best just getting a new card?

No don't do that - put card into an atm and unlock the pin - only if this does not work order a new card.0

I had a problem similar to this with my first First Direct credit card, after unlocking it, it locked it again so they sent me a new one.
Could be a fault with the card chip like mine was?0
