Pricing of camera on Ebay?

Hi
I'm taking advantage of the free listings weekend to get rid of a few things.

One of the things I am selling is a Nikon D60 18-55 VR Kit. Almost brand new and bbarely used with original box but not the packaging from inside the box iyswim. I am also including a camera bag.

I've struggled a bit on the pricing of it, but eventually plumped for £220 thinking I can always drop the price later or re-list it.

Does this seem to be a reasonable price for it? Would really like other peoples opinions please?

Thanks in advance.

have you looked at completed listings?

There are a couple unsold at £240 (including postage) and also a couple sold at about that price as well- so you might be lucky. If not at least you haven't paid a listing fee.

  • Thank you. I did look at current listings, but not completed ones. D'oh!

  • I stuck at the £220 price for listing and it's just sold to a lovely lady for £260! Am counting myself very lucky and the money is much needed, so thanks for the advice.

Well done! My local camera shop has one for sale for £200 with a 6 month warranty!

    Interesting! Thank you.
It was in immaculate condition and I threw in a decent camera bag, but will count myself as extra lucky!

It didn't have a lens but the warranty would partially make up for that. I was a bit annoying really. They had a D200 for £75 less than I paid for mine on Ebay! (although mine was a bit less used). It's difficult to work out what the price should be as every time they bring out a new one, the older ones drop in price - even though they are still perfectly good cameras.
  • That's exactly why I had such difficulty pricing it. Turnround in technology is so fast now it's hard to know when to hang on for something to drop in price or go ahead regardless.
