I was wondering if somebody could help me out here...
i live in south london and i need to get to beckton (docklands railway), my nearest station is Norbury, Brixton & Croydon, if i take a train from norbury to balham where i can get a train to bank and switch to docklands railway and get to Beckton, will my underground zone 1-6 travelcards work, or do they have different travel cards for different prices?
Also is there any easier way of getting to Beckton from here?
Thanks in advance

Use the Transport for London journey planner. You haven't given much detail, so I experimented by asking it to take me from East Croydon station to Beckton library (the library was one of a small range of 'points of interest' it suggested when I told it I wanted to go to
. For this journey, which involves train, underground and Docklands Light Railway, a travelcard is fine I think (they do work from E Croydon nowadays, don't they?)
It looks as if your journey will all fall between zones 1 and 6, so your only tasks are to find a quick route (which you can do on the website above) and to check that if your journey involves a S London railway station, that you can use a travelcard from that station.
Good luck with your quest!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Thanks for the site
Do you know the ticket price for docklands, cant find it on the site0 -
It's quicker to get the Jubilee Line from London Bridge to Canning Town, where you can get a DLR train to Beckton.
DLR is part of TfL, so travelcards are valid.0 -
Yes, as smurf says, the DLR is part of the tube system as far as travelcards are concerned. THere should be a map somewhere on the TFL site which shows which zone all the stations you need are in. Good luck with the journey - are you commuting this route regularly?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Your travelcard shouldn't be a problem. Use the Jubilee Line where possible. It is the best line on the underground. Why are you going to Beckton anyway? I travel all around London for work ,and that part of the city is one I try and avoid."Don't critisise what people look like, how they speak, where they are from, and what they are called. They cannot help it.
Do critisise what they say, and what they do, especially if what they say is different to what they do. They can help that"
