Missing account numbers

Hi Guys,
I got a copy of my credit history showing the dates of various loans and credit card ive had over the years, most of these accounts are now inactive.
I understand from Martins Guide to claim I need a copy of terms and conditions and full account breakdown but in the template letter you need your account number.
Is there a way to get the information if you just have the dates of the product you had and no account numbers etc
Thanks in advance

You need some means by which a policy can be identified before a complaint about it can be investigated. That can normally be done from name, address, date of birth etc for accounts that still exist.
For closed accounts, there may be no means of doing so by that method because the Data Protection Act prevents an organisation from retaining personal data in a readily identifiable format.
It may still be held in a format that cannot be identified to the person it related to but could only be retrieved if there was some other means to locate it. The only realistic means would be a policy or account number.0 -
Ah ok, Thanks, thought it was a long shot anyway0
