Santander overdraft question...

Hi, I was wondering if someone knows if I can go below £0.00 on my santander PODR account without getting charged (or if you know how much I would get charged)

I've been below £0.00 in the past and not been charged but I always thought it was a bit weird - and the terms may have changed...

No, I don't have an arranged overdraft. I've looked at the santander website and it says I would get charged £30

from what I 've read on that page it says for unarranged overdrafts the charge is £5 a day, is this correct?
If so, how much can i go under £0.00?

Hi,

I think you would be better to get an arranged od, 50p a day for 20 days max/month, better than £5 a day for 20 days.

well all you can do is try it, but be prepared for £5 a day od fee.

Could you not use a credit card cash advance?

I phoned them up and they said if you pay for something and you haven't got the money in your account then you're charged £25 and £5 per day - is that right?!

yes that looks right, have another look at the link.

Just had a look at my account, and I see you can apply for an overdraft online, log in, manage overdraft, so maybe you could try that.

When I try to apply for an overdraft online it says;

We are sorry but this amount exceeds the allowable limit available on this account at this time.

have you tried reducing the amount?

If still refused then looks as though you are beat then, or try a branch tomorrow.
