does a bank charge for transferring money from my own bank account to
another.. when the other account is in a different bank entirely?
the other account is not my own. is it possible to transfer money in this way
(entering my bank, telling them how much to transfer, and giving them the other
banks account details) or is the only way really via having my own cheque book?
probably an obvious one but im not 100% on it.. and i dont have a cheque book!
thanks for any info

I haven't heard of a charge for this service if it is a normal transaction as you describe.
My friend can pay me money from her Barclays bank account to my HSBC online. You can also set up a standing order free of charge.
There may be exceptions that someone may let you know about.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
i just thought that if the transaction was between two different banks there may have been a charge or special circumstances, i have the basic bank details so ill assume it will only go through once the other bank can confirm they are correct
thanks for the reply
certain banks may have charges but ill have to find out from them in the end. cheers 0 -
Shouldn't be a charge. Make sure it's a BACS payment and not a CHAPS transfer. The BACS payment takes three working days, the CHAPS is same day, but CHAPS costs money.0
