BT recent call list, none made by me

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advice...
I've been looking at my recent calls list on BT.com. There are 13 calls on that list which could not have been made from my flat. These include calls to Romania and local cab companies. I work in The Netherlands and was not in Edinburgh the time the calls were made, no one else has access to my flat. There is an alarm system which texts me if there is a break in, so no one has been in the flat.

I called BT faults from Holland as there must be some sort of fault on the line. The Indian call centre workers did not understand the problem but said there is no fault on my line. I then emailed the problem to them. The latest reply says they cannot do anything until I am back in the UK as they cannot call outside the UK.

What can I do? BT company rep are you there?

Thanks,

Chris

The Indian's appear not to understand that it is not necessary to call you to deal with the issue and that email is a viable alternative.

If you know your account details, fill in their form:

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Hi,

thanks for the reply. I already tried that form, that is when I got the email reply below saying I had to be in the UK....

[FONT=&quot]I would like to inform you regarding this issue we need to have an interactive session and would request you to resend the email once you are in UK as we are not authorized to call outside the country, sorry for inconvenience caused.

That's ridiculous. You're a customer reporting a problem regardless of where you are.

Perhaps BT Company Representative will pick this one up?

I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

    Paddy,

    Hi,

Any news about the problem. It is 4 days since I filled in your form and apart from the acknowledgement email, I have had no contact.

    Thanks,

    Chris
