  • Whenever I order anything from Amazon I always pick the free postage option.Unless you are really desperate to get something the next day its not worth it.
I work for a company that delivers for Amazon and the main difference between the free and 24 hour service is that we have to treat the 24 hour ones as a priority but more often than not we also take out the 48/72 hour service ones on the same day anyway but aren't obliged too.
The weird thing is, I sometimes arrive at a property delivering an Amazon parcel at the same time as the postman and he is carding the recipient as he's unable to leave it whereas I am.This is on things that will easily post through the letterbox.
  • Watch out if you're getting stuff delivered by the courier company "Hermes UK" - they have a bad reputation on the Amazon boards and I'm in the middle of dispute with Amazon about them myself. Their tracking site says my parcel was delivered last friday and it's no such thing I was in all day and nothing was delivered here - google "Hermes UK Amazon" and read all about it. I've never had a problem in the past with Amazon couriers City Link, RM, Parcel Force but these guys seem to be a complete shambles -
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.
