liquid sanding

Hi
I have an internal door which has 12 tall, narrow panes of glass, 6 on top half, 6 on bottom half.

At present it is dark wood and varnished. The hall is very dark so I'd love to paint one side of door white.

However the thought of sanding all those little panels fills me with dread.

Have you tried liquid sander? Did it work for you? Do you think it might be suitable for this?

i've never tried liquid sander , but just some 120 grade paper would be good enough - you only need to give it a light sand , i would then give it a coat of http://zinsseruk.com/shop/Product.aspx?cId=130&pgId=35
this will give your door a good primed surface for painting

I've used liquid sandpaper before, worked fine on gloss paint.

All it does is provide you with a light key for the next coat to grab. It won't work very well i corners and around mouldings. You'd be better off using one of these:



rather than a paper backed product - this will get into all the little nooks and crannies. Then a coat of BIN as suggested above.
