Programming Ebooks

Currently at college done a small amount programming last year, c programming, visual basic and javascript. I am intrested in picking these up again, i know the basic concept of these but have forgotten commands etc. And can anyone reccomend a programming language, that will come in useful in a job role?! Keep hearing mysql getting mentioned not exactly sure what it is.

C or C++ is more the industry standard for applications.

visual basic is easy to learn though so it will give you programming experience

look on ebay for books or a library.
  • Thanks yeah i thought c programming was abit dull as programming goes, but suppose it was the version we were using and what it could do....looked like a compiler from the 1980's

microsoft were giving away a time limited version of visual studio express editions 2005

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/download/

look at the link top left. VB,C#,j#....

you have to register to get a key.

and c hasnt changed that much (it has but not from where your starting)

C and it's variants are on there way out. Java is somewhere in a middle point of continuing or being disregarded. Web languages aren't regarded as programing or as a programming language but as a scripting language.

Best bet is a basic language to being with to learn the fundementals like loops etc.

Looks like an illegal copyright infringement site to me but I could be wrong. There are ebooks there of books that aren't supposed to have ebooks available for them.
