    Tesco profits down 2.3%.

I'm not too upset about that. :D
Only really go there to use coupons combined with offers and check the clothes sale now and again. I think Tesco are by far the worst at trying to "hoodwink" their customers with their pricing startegy, strange way to try and maintain loyalty??
Lidl and Adli have possibly picked off some customers also, wonder what their profits will show??

Great pity both Lidl and Aldi don't take coupons though (apart from their own).

Tesco profits down 2.3%. Just watched Sky News n the guy on there must been a coupon user or very savvy. His conclusion was that the Big Price Drop (Flop or Price Rise) didn't work. Tesco got there coupon campaign wrong at Christmas compared to Morrisons and Asda. He did say about the way they use and take coupons, i don't know what he was reffering to but clubcard as gone to the dog, no points and competitors spend coupons now stopped means alot of us take our buisness elsewhere - Great - now lets wait for some more Tesco mad promos.... Off to Asda today £100 week in their pockets

    Shares 12% down lmao

I had a look at these in Morrisons yesterday but it says they will refund your money an 2 stamps if you don't like them and you have to give 15 words why you didn't like them so I didn't bother I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that or am I being silly ?

That depends if they are actually nice or not! I know what you mean though. :)

It is annoying when you try something and its horrible though, I have written to a couple of companies in the past as I have been really disappointed with their products and they dont even bother to respond. I know I had a pudding from Sainsburys once and it was horrid. I took it back under their refund if you dont like policy and the amount of hassle CS gave me was unreal- I felt like a criminal! Hopefully the mccain jackets are nice, I havnt managed to find any to use my coupon yet :( . DP has had spuds for works before but always reckons they are 'rubbery' so hopefully the mccain ones are nice!
  • I was in my local Tesco (Newtownabbey, N.Ireland) yesterday and they refused to take my valid coupons (£1 off Persil non-bio - in date and correct product) that I had printed from MSE, stating it was their policy not to take coupons printed off the web. Can anyone confirm or deny? It would be a shame if this turns out to be true. Thanks.

Hi there, welcome to the thread. This offer won't be on the front page as there isn't a Batchelors coupon available to use with this offer, the shopping list usually just shows items where coupons can be used to make more savings.

The ASDA "Big Clean" event ends tomorrow (15th), so I've been told today.
Got 2 Persil non bio and 2 Comfort just to top up and before the offer ends - £2.50 spent.

They weren't replenishing the stocks on the event shelves, they were actually pretty empty.
Get there quick if you need anything.

  • Hi,

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place but I was hoping that someone on this thread would be able to clear matters up for me... I'm trying to start up a bit of a stock pile of essentials because of needing to cut back on weekly food shopping but needed a bit of advice about how to get the best out of a coupon.

My main problem is I don't understand the "cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers" that seems to be printed on almost all coupons. When I saw a program a while back a lady brought 2 loafs of bread, the bread was on offer 2 for £2 and she had a £1 off voucher which made the bread free....sure enough at the checkout the bread was free. I don't understand how this happens if the coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer...or does this mean any other manufacturer offer and not store offer.

I mean to try it out today but left the house without the coupons I needed :(.

An example of what I'm trying to do:

I have some McCain chips vouchers that were on MSE forums, now the voucher is only worth 30p. In Sainsbury's at the moment these chips are on two bags for £1.80. If I were to buy the two bags and then use two vouchers in theory this would bring my total spend down to £1.20 = 60p per bag...which is cheaper than the store brand...can I do this?

I will try it later in the week if the offer is still on but would this sort of thing work or is it just a bit of a fluke and sometimes a voucher will work with an offer and sometimes won't?

Thanks for reading...and once again really sorry if I've posted in the wrong place.

    Cheers,
    Ed
